I have never written a complete chess program, but I might decide to write one
in the futute.

Languages that I learned (in order to get my Bachelor of science in Computer
information System (BCI)) are:
1.ADA, Assembly, Basic/Visual Basic, C/C++, Visual C++, COBOL, FORTRAN, HTML
Java, PASCAL, PL and RPGII, SQL and still learning other languages.

COMPUTER LANGUAGES EXPERIENCE:
C (10yrs), C++ (6yrs), Java (4yrs), Visual C++ (4yrs), PL/SQL (3yrs), HTML
(3yrs), Visual Basic (1yrs)

I worked for 6 years in IBM, then decided to work for the Department of Defense.
