I think that amateurs can get much from it They can probably get more than it by developing their program but if they decide to stop to do it then testing can be productive for them. Note that there are amateurs that you can change their parameters. One of them is greenlightchess. proffesional may have more parameters but they also may have more experience in testing the parameters so you can expect less improvement by changing them. Uri
