If Black were worse otherwise, it would be different. I would be happy as White if my opponent decided to give up the 2Bs for something nebulous like this. After fxg3, all of Whites pieces get in play while Black still has a Rook sitting on a8 and his N on c6 is nothing to brag about. If Black can get anything, I doubt it would greater than what he could have had by simply withdrawing the Bishop. Not all that glitters is gold.
