Maybe you have missed this post in early May: Subject : The King in Fritz8 personality .param files Posted by : Brian Kostick on May 10, 2003 at 14:08:35 A group of interesting people have worked on how we want to share Chessmaster 9000 personality files that will work in Fritz 8 (and similar ChessBase GUI). We have a specification (not formal, but sufficient) and files that represent it at: http://briefcase.yahoo.com/brian.kostick@sbcglobal.net The file is: CM9-wb2uci.zip We were unable to support the Fritz 7 style and older GUI where the 'Load' and 'Save' buttons do not exist on the 'Engine Parameters' dialogbox. That is not to say that the King in older ChessBase GUI support is not available elsewhere, although we believe significantly less convenient. Brian Thomas has supplied some personality files compatible with this standard in the file: EngineParameter.zip Thanks for his extra effort. Be advised that the OPK number and setting the path to TheKing.exe and installing it in Fritz8 as UCI engine is still part of the end-user responsibility. Thanks to all who had interest and participated. We look forward to settings authors who wish to convert or supply their settings in this format. If you would like me to host your .param file/files in the area mentioned above please feel free to email them to me. Webhost who wish to support this format are encouraged to take and share the CM9-wb2uci.zip file, or tell people they can receive it from the origin. You can change and alter this .zip file but please note that we consider the wb2uci.eng file the heart of the specification and request that only an end-user change it to support their special circumstance, when setting OPK, and setting the path to the engine. Regards, Brian Kostick
