The above links work as claimed, and they did what I wanted. I just note that it's a little tricky to setup a position. Not all positions are found in the database on the "first try", so there may be additional syntax rules that aren't explained. It seems best to use one of the starting positions given at the first link above, and substitute your piece locations for theirs. Also the superior side is apparently always white, so maybe you'll have to use opposite colors as well. Otherwise it appears to be a very workable system. Online access of 6-man endgame tablebases is a heckuva lot more practical than downloading and storing them, at least for most people. I would expect (& hope) that this will be the trend of the future. WP
