My two cents: The Chessmaster GUI annoys me. It has always been that way. What a shame, especially with the "new" 3.23 King engine in CM9k. On the other hand in Deep Sjeng you get a full-featured program with many options. Besides that, I believe that Deep Sjeng 1.5 is one of the best tacticians around and its endgame has improved to that point that it will be very highly rated on the next SSDF list. And, if you have an SMP compliant machine, you will be more than happy with Deep Sjeng, which is not the case with CM at all. Not to mention the Internet servers, standard format endgame tablebases etc, all offered by DS. Your infelicitous "review", or point of view if you wish, are badly written and a bit offensive (to use the wording you used one must be personally affected. Why?). Summary: if you care for bells and whistles go for CM; if you want a very strong engine with excellent features and great support pick Deep Sjeng. But to like Deep Sjeng you have to be a strong player first, and not pay attention to meaningless trinkets... Djordje
