Rebel 10 still doesn't want to play with me, Ed!
I'm back, still having the same problems-less than 10 moves and Rebel crashes
and returns me back to Windows. I tried your suggestion to go into Rebel
program
group and click on the appropriate icon then to properties and tried playing
with the different settings all the way down to w1. (Please note that I clicked
on the icon
into Rebel properties and made the setting changes before the program was
launched. I also tried the v setting in combination with the other setting. I
also tried the
other Rebel 10 icon "Rebel 10.0 no VESA." I tried other things that have been
posted here at the Computer
Chess Club in addition to rebooting the computer into the MSDOS mode to see if I
could run Rebel from there-no change. I uninstalled Rebel and re-installed it
and
still no change. My machine is a Cyrix 166mhz with 32mb of ram, Win 98, 4gb HD.
The other system is with 64MB of RAM, Win 95. First machine has a
Matrox Mystique purchased within the last year the second machine has a Matrox
Millineum with 4MB of vidoe RAM. I have Rebel 7, 8 , 9 and they all work fine
on both machines (and are willing to play me at any time and beat me, too : )
HELP! What do I do next?
