But it is inappropriate to seek technical support on CCC when there exists a perfectly valid channel for it. As I stated before, sharing the solution to the problem is also a good idea. And if technical support is unable to help solve it, then appealing for outside help is also appropriate in that instance. >I do think >contacting Rebel should be done first, and any information of interest can be >passed on to ccc. But there are people who don't know this. Maybe they are >stupid, but they are trying to fix a problem. I don't think they are stupid. In the first place, it is very unlikely for a truly stupid person to have such a large passion for the game of chess as to spend a large sum of money for a commercial product. Secondly, a person of low intellect is much more likely to choose a different outlet for entertiainment than chess. And I do believe that Will Rogers was right when he said, "Everybody's ignorant -- only in different areas." Surely you are aware of many thousands of things for which I have no clue. My reason for following up is to try to redirect to a more appropriate forum. >They are not all experts like you. I am not a computer chess expert. I do database programming. I am interested in computer chess programming as a hobby and have been studying the field. But it will be a while before I produce something substantial.
