Dimitris,

I think it should work - I use WIN2K. I never used WINME - so I'm not familiar
with with WINME problems. to solve the problem we will have to isolate the
source. From my many years of experince of using crafty. There are 3 main
sources of errors in Win Carfty:

1. Opening books - saftest is using the books from Bob's site.

2. Issues related to logging. These are tied to the next issue.

3, Using "spaces" in folder names that Crafty is accessing. Remove all spaces
from folder names - use simple diectories like:

"c:\tb" for tablebases
"c:\books" for books
"c:\crafty" for your crafty files.

Using directory names like "c:\progtram folders\crafty" will cause problems
                                       ^
                                     no spaces

FYI, I do not even use spaces for Fritz 8 - as matter of habit. It's simply:

"d:\chessbase\engines\crafty"

If you have spaces - fix that first. Also grab the books from Bob's site and see
if that works,

Best,

Michael
