Subject: Crafty 19.04 SE

Author: Mike Byrne

Date: 20:56:58 07/06/03

Is looking very good. Bob sent me the source earlier today and I folded in the
changes.

original 19.04 is quicker in tactics than 19.03.

For example - on my machine, 19.03 SE got 293/300 in 4 seconds.
Base 19.04 with no changes gets 295/300 in 4 seconds.
19.04 SE gets 297/300 WAC in 4 seconds.

That is all with WACNEW that folks pointed out to me yesterday.

Playing a new tourney - so far 19.04 SE is 2/3.

Here are the two wins , each with human and machine commentary :

I am not crazy about F8 playing Rxc2 here, losingthe exchange for acouple of
pawns. But still, Black did not look awful here.

Here I thought black would hold the draw with the far outside passers.

Those out side passers still look dangerous. Of course White now has a ccouple
of passer of it own -- and one neat little trick.
