But do try to find in the source a non-existant directory that KC is supposed to create, something along the lines of /usr/local/chess/ and change it into, say, /tmp/. There are three or four files in the source where you can find the above directory. Also, make sure to edit makefile, not Makefile, and change the following: CFLAGS=$(OPT) $(INCLUDE) #-DLEARN_EVAL=1 to CFLAGS=$(OPT)$(INCLUDE) -DLEARN_EVAL=1 Hope this will help. Djordje
