There must be some explanation for the performance difference. I've run my chess
program on a 3GHz P4 with HT on and it scaled perfectly compared to my 2.2GHz
P4. All of the hardware sites you linked to didn't show a performance decrease
like that on ANY benchmark, and it's not like chess programs are completely
different from every other program. Occam's razor, there must be something wrong
with the way you did the test.
