All library rand() will only return positive signed integers. I meant a PRNG included in source code. Most I know (I have a collection of over 50) return 32 bit numbers. One 2 line example, I showed recently in http://www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?304949 That one is really not good, but good enough for such testing. Using a PRNG in source code has also the benefit, that numbers can be reproduced by people with a different compiler. Regards, Dieter
