My brother has been living not too far away from it for almost a year now. The articles are from 2002 because THAT'S WHEN IT WAS BUILT! If you can find an accurate cost in Yen, I'm happy to find the currency exchange rate at any point in time and convert. Exactly one year ago, USD-JPY exchange rates were nearly identical to what they are today. Today, $1 is worth 118.58JPY, and one year ago (when they machine was built, remember!) $1 was worth 117.85JPY. Not to mention that almost all cost estimates I've seen are listed in USD anyway. BTW, to get 680 from 500, you have to add 36%, not "a bit more than 20%".
