Hi. I did some house-cleaning at home and beneath my bed I found my three year old chess program. It is very weak (talking about 3ply+3qply in about 1sec on a Athleon 1.2GHz). However I wish to improve it by adding/removing candy. But to find out the right path I need a road-map, i.e. measure my changes. Are there any (good) test suites for such weak programs? What is the state-of-the-art format of test-suites? My program supports FEN, but I have failed to find any complete description of the EPD-standard (only broken links). Many thanks to Andrei Fortuna for setting up a search engine for this forum. No need to repeat questions each month! (Though I haven't been able to find an answer to this one.)
