Peter, I use Windows 2000 Pro and have no problems with either Shredder 7.0 or Shredder 7.04 UCI . Disable any background virus scanner or other automatic background utilities. If that doesn't work then tell Chessbase what kind of video card you have. Sometimes these chess programs fail with certain video cards.
