this is the first chess problem EVER solved by a chess program running on a
computer(ignoring paper chess programs)
the computer was the MADM built for the University of Manchester
the first chess program ever written to play a complete game on a computer on a
board of 64 squares was written by Dr. Dietrich Gunther Prinz in 1951
the program correctly found the mate in 15 minutes.
