To answer your questions:

1) That is called a "Forsythe" board notation, or "FEN" for short. It is
basically a text description of a board position, showing where the pieces are,
if castling and en-passant are legal, etc.

2) Yes, you can import the above position directly into Chessmaster. Just copy
it IN ITS ENTIRETY to the Windows clipboard, and then in the Game Room select
"Edit -> Paste -> Forsythe Board Notation". The board will immediately update
with that position, which you can then analyze or whatever else you want....
