Do you mean with wb2uci or the old wb-adapter?
In Wb2Uci you can add LevelExtend=Failsafe or LevelExtend=None to ensure it
gives the levelcommand strict after the protocol rules. ('None' was added
1/1/03).
With the old adapter I would guess it should work there too since other engines
work with their sendings of 'level'.
It is the level command that is different from the protocol so it seems only
right to attack this with a translation.
With changing the level command I guess it should work in Winboard, CA etc. too.
