Oh I most certainly agree! Maybe Morphy would adapt....but most would have been
crushed...chess has evolved a long ways since the mid 19th century;^)

I also agree that Grandmasters do indeed fall prey to the superior short range
and medium range tactics of these beasts today, a human weakness I'm afraid, and
one not easily remedied.

I would say it's true that the top players on their best days will defeat the
machine...but will succumb when their game is off...and that's to be expected.

Still 2300 players can shock everyone by beating the machine while the 2600
rated player becomes another statistic...happens all the time:)
