In a game recently played on ICC, Chessmaster 9000 defeated what appeared to be a Crafty clone (khmcrafty) rather easily thanks to two blunders. The game was a blitz affair of 3 0. Here are the two positions: [D]r1b1r1k1/p1p2ppp/2p5/4P3/1b1pQPnq/2NB3P/PPP3P1/R1B2R1K b - - 0 14 khm played 14...Nf2+?? It looks good, but it fails. CM9000 much prefers dxc3. After 14...Nf2+ 15.Rxf2, khm has one more chance to save the game by playing dxc3. [D]r1b1r1k1/p1p2ppp/2p5/4P3/1b1pQP1q/2NB3P/PPP2RP1/R1B4K b - - 0 15 Instead it follows through and plays 15...Qxf2, and ends up resigning 10 moves later! Does your program avoid both of these moves?
