I believe the book IS responsible for the different results of The King and
Junior 8 (scored 4/4 with 1.e4).
Chesstiger probably has just bad luck in your second tournament so far.
The King was almost always out of book some moves before its opponent got out of
book.
This is very important.

Btw Fritz 8 and Chesstiger 15 (in CA) would also play this move.
10...Bxf3 is correct of course.
