I went to www.google.com and searched for:
sjeng -chess pronunciation

The first link was to:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/tennis/2001/australian_open/news/2001/01/12/men_prono/

I scrolled down and found:
Sjeng Schalken, Netherlands -- (chang SHALL-ken)

Of course, this does not guarantee that this is the intended pronunciation by
the author of sjeng. Only he can answer that.
