If your friend having 2319 Elo is even unable do get draws at his will,
then he is doing something wrong. Please post some games and I am going to
tell you where he made moves that are not allowed to play vs computer
programs. There are some important rules: try to never get in time trouble;
avoid tactics whenever possible; play a positional sound and above all
prophylactical style; do not use time controls like blitz (game at X) but
choose 120'/40, 60'/60; and in general, do not hesitate to play a very
boring game. I know it from my own experience: quite a lot of people are
not able to handle chess games in this way, but those people are not
the right ones to fight vs computers. I have used computers in our club
tournament years ago and seldom did the strongest players get the best
results. BTW, I have just got another draw on P3 800/96 MB hash with
Black (120'/40) against ChessTiger15: game and comments to follow.
