Kasparov himself recently said that these >people who are claiming wins against the top programs are full of crap. I don't think they are taking moves back at all. If you played a program long enough , and with a consistant opening you can beat it. Maybe I can't beat a PC program, but I'm only 1600- 1700 hundred. However when I played my Palm with Tiger over and over again - I could beat it half the time if I was on a roll. The Tiger on the Palm is rated near 2100. So for a 2200 player to beat a top PC half the time , would not surprise me at all. That is why a large and varied book for humans is so important against humans. In essence that have attacked these programs as a PC game where they have found the weakness. IMO, all chess programs have weakenesses , it is just getting harder and hearder to exploit them. Time and time again, Edward has shown exactly where the weakeness is in the proh=grams he plays against. I find his posts very enlighting and hope he keeps posting. Top GM really don't prepare for a computer - thet are preparing for other top GM's. They look at PC programs as very tough opponent - but IMO, most of them do not prepare properly for a PC. It's not the way they are trained. So I would not be surprised if a strong master or IM out there may actually be the strongest anti-computer player. Some players seem to have a knack for playing against computer -- because they do it all the time. But IMO, the best preparation for a GM would not to play computer all the time. Instead, preparing and studying their opponents and with other GM's may be the best utilization of their time. Computers should be used as a tool for all players , but they are not the "end all". btw , You were trolling - when you start out with the subject "I'm not Trolling But......." it will you usually mean you are trolling. In your case, your post fitted trolling perfectly.
