Patience is a major factor in humans vs. comps IMO. This is a hard thing for us patzers since we love spectacular attacking chess and we were taught to play for win. So prudence is a restraint for most of us. Chess programs should take into account the playing strenght of their opponents (at least in rated games), and choose their opening lines and playing style accordingly. Too hard task for a programmer?
