As I mentioned, Johan and I discussed this, but not in very much detail. He
seemed to think it was a good idea, which means he probably thought it through
very well before commnenting on my idea. Therefore, you are probably right in
saying that, in most cases, adjusting the cfd value depending on rating
difference will probably not hurt the engine SIGNIFICANTLY.

However, since the search is noticeably altered by this one change, it is really
difficult to say without a lot of testing.

I'm not sure what you mean by "CM uses several opening books automatically".
Each personality uses only one opening book -- whichever one it is told to use.
The "CM9000.OBK" book is rather eclectic, in that it knows about lots of
openings, and is very democratic about all of them. It was designed to be able
to play the most POPULAR lines, and not necessarily the lines that are best for
The King.
