Subject: Computerchess IRC chat channel ?

Based on my activities in some IRC channel I have another idea:
What about setting up a dedicated chatroom for computerchess? That means an own
channel on an existing IRC server. Of course an appropriate server has to be
chosen, but this is the smallest problem. The advantage is that you directly see
who is online in the channel and can place questions and answers directly.
Answers usually follow immediately. The advantage is obvious: You don't need to
reload any homepage (board) and see who is available. All you need is a small
IRC client such as mIRC, dIRC, Trillian etc., add the server where the
computerchess channel is and which channel you want to enter ("join"). So if
there are several interested in that, we could try it out. A short introduction
is no problem to write for those who had no contact with IRC yet. BTW you might
consider your online costs if you don't have a flatrate because usually you
don't want to quit such channels. ;-)
So, who is interested now and who could operate such a channel?
Or do such channels already exist?
