I guess many will pay that if it gets world champion and then plays a match against kasparov. If something plays a match against kasparov then it must have about the same rating right? If you disagree then you're someone who disagrees the general audience won't. So winning the championships trofy is important for brutus because it will boost sales and garantuee a match versus kasparov. Donninger said in CSS that he will have a match versus kasparov when he wins the world champs. I doubt however that the world champs version of brutus can be sold for $1000. More like $3000 it will be i guess. So i doubt whether $500 target will be reached.
