It would be nice if there would be chess computers versus the rest of the world with a tournament time control. The Top 6 players versus the Top 6 programs playing double round robin with each having an oppotunity to play white and black. With this, it would be much easier to see which program perform best against humans. Its easy to select the human players as the elo rating will just be used for the selection. For the computers we only have Comp comp rating to use. But some people are saying that some programs perform well against computers but does poorly against humans, other programs perform badly against computers but perform better against humans. The SMP programs do have the advantage but Rebel. Chess Tiger, Hiarcs and Chessmaster proved that single processor programs can stand against GMs. Maybe Deep Fritz, Deep Junior, Deep Shredder, Deep Crafty, Rebel, Hiarcs, ChessTiger and Chessmaster are the contenders, but how do we choose the top 6? If we make it 8 humans against 8 computers, there will be too many games and humans might get tired. Any suggestions?
