[D]8/5KBB/p4b2/1pp1kb2/8/1P6/1P5P/8 b - - 0 1
That's Em. Lasker - Tarrasch, St. Petersburg 1914
The position is won easily with 1...Be6+ 2. Kg6 Bxg7 3. Kxg7 Bxb3 4. h4 Bd1 -+
But not with 1...Bxg7? 2. Bxf5 =+
The pawn endgame is drawn: 2. ...Kxf5?! 3. Kg7 a5 4. h4 Kg4 5. Kg6! ( and not 5.
Kf6? c4 6. bc bc 7. Ke5 c3 8. bc a4 9. Kd4 a3 -+, Tarrasch's idea) Kh4 6. Kf5
Kg3 7. Ke4 Kf2 8. Kd5 Ke3 9. Kc5 Kd3 10. Kb5 Kc2 11. Ka5 Kb3 1/2-1/2
The bishop's ending after 2. Bxf5 is extremely drawish because of the bishops of
opposite colours.
I only tried Yace so far that had a very hard time with this position
852631702 14:51.1 0.45 20. 1...Bxg7 2.Bxf5 Bh6 3.Bc8 a5 4.Ba6 b4 5.Kg6 Bc1
6.h4 Bxb2 7.h5 Kd4 8.h6 Kc3 9.Bc4 Kd2 10.Kf5
Ke3 11.h7H Bh8H {80}
How do other engines do? Please give them some time to see if they really keep
Be6+ .
