As a "polite and considerate person" (!) I say people like Vincent are needed to shake things up a bit; after all, the attacked person can defend themselves straight off. (If there were Web sites with similar content, where there is no concept of an easily accessible response, there would be a real problem). A discussion forum which rang with praise with posts uniformly along the lines of "Bai Jove, excellent new version of Rebel, Ed!" or "Ripping good algorithm, Professor Hyatt" would be crushingly boring ...
