Ba6 Black can sacrifice the exchange with 12...bxc5, but White is probably coming out slightly ahead, even though Black's pieces are very active. So, I'd agree with your initial assessment - 10...Qa5 looks like the best move. (10...Qc8 also looks playable) I wouldn't be too harsh on your program for playing 10...Rc8 as Black will have some compensation for the exchange after 12. Ba6 bxc5 BTW, I let Fritz 5 think for a couple of minutes, and it also likes 10...Qa5. Hope this helps... --Peter
