Unbelievable. For Kasparov, rated over 2800, to even want an annulment of a game against a 2084 player just because he got into a very theoretical line without knowing his rating in advance is like Bill Gates kicking and bashing a vending machine because it ate his quarter. A 2800 ultra super GM should be able to outplay a 2000 rated player from any theoretical line whether or not he has 23 other games to worry about.
