First , he didn't say what you say above. This is what he said. "My current estimate of Shredder's strength is 2755, so it's doing about what you would expect in the GM section of the VI Magistral de la Republica. Based on the ratings, it should score about 87%, which would either be +7 or +8 in the 10-round event." There is nothing wrong with his statement. If you want to make a statement like "Shredder 7.0 could NOT performs at 2755 against a solid group of players or single players like GM Seirawan or GM Smirin with this machine XP 1600+." -- you could be right. But he did not say ""Shredder 7.0 could performsat 2755 against a solid group of players or single players like GM Seirawan or GM Smirin with this machine XP 1600+." He has his own estimate of Shredder, you have your own and nobody knows who is right or wrong for certain. But there is nothing wrongt when somebody expresses his opinion. Opinions are not statements of fact, although some people express their opinion as if they are. #1 There are 24 hours in a day. Statement of fact. #2 The US is the best country in the world to live in. Statement of opinion. #1 is black and white. #2 may be true for me, may not be true for you - expression of opinion. "My current estimate of Shredder's strength is 2755" is an expression of opinion, not statement of fact.
