I could be wrong about this but 18 years ago when I played a chess computer the quality of play was not as good then. With today's programs being written so well and the technology advancements in hardware my expectations are high. The hardware and software has come a long way and winning against a chess computer is not an easy task. I could be fair and show the games the Fritz 8 program just slaughtered me but what kind of fun would that be :) I agree with you and at the same time feel it sure is difficult to win in an impressive fashion.
