I have a P4-2.4 Ghz too and I was able to up it to 2.8+, but I did it only to satisfy my curiosity. However, I would never feel safe with my computer running at speeds not specified by the manufacturer. My motherboard is a Microstar 6547 Ultra C (I think) and it is quite ready for overclocking as is my memory (Kingston) but I simply don't want to do that. Your computer is quite fast as it is. I crossed the 2700 mark on playchess.com easily with the P4, using my homemade books and running Fritz and Shredder. I haven't tried to overclock my AMD XP 2400+ either, although I would be able to up it to about 2.2 Ghz (it runs at 2 Ghz) equalling an AMD 2800+. Again the same thing: I feel ill at ease upping the computer to speeds not recommended by the manufacturer. Just my two cents. Other people may give you different advice. Djordje
