Subject: Can not computers invent sacrifices?

I was using Crafty to analyze the sixth game
of the match "Deep Blue vs. Kasparov". At
ply 15 the night sacrificing move that
forces the win (most agree)is made "Ng5*e6".
Crafty evaluates the resulting position as
about -1.3 (thus in favor of Black).
Like wise,Deep Blue's screen dump show's -1.6 (thus
in favor of Black), and stays in Black's favor till
after ply 21 "Bc1f4", six plies after the
sacrifice!
Like wise, the live commentators
said "Fritz 4" was scoring -.28 (thus in favor
of Black) at ply 25 "Pa2a4".
If all those computers rate the position
resulting from that winning sacrifice as
dropping in score for White, then that move
would have been far below the favorite
move from their move lists. Thus, they can
not make that move on their own.
    Is that all correct?
