It depends on the analysis tree. Is it a slender sapling? Does it have several
branches? Or is it a veritable thicket of possible moves? Also are the possible
moves similar in evaluation, or is there a big difference between them?

When you have several moves which are almost identical in evaluation, then you
might as well flip a coin. The tiniest change in a variable may make the engine
choose a different move in that case.
