Chris Whittington has done a lot of creative work in computer chess. And even
then when he was being sarcastic and "rebellious" he contributed to this Forum
with his ideas.  His greatest contribution is, of course, his excellent program
Chess System Tal which is going to be unique in the computer chess world for
years to come. Thus your heading that you are surprised to read, etc. does not
make ANY sense to me. Bear in mind that he wrote a very good chess program for
the Spectrum Sinclar computer back then when you may not have been born, in
1983.  Sorry, but I am just guessing what your age is...
