It compiles fine.  But it seems that GCC is broken and produces an executable
that won't run correctly.  This has happened in the past.  I started developing
crafty on a solaris box, and After a bit of playing around, I finally found a
version of gcc that would compile something that would work.  Seems that the
"long long" stuff causes headaches from time to time...

It should work on the PPC.  However, I have not tried it in quite a while.  The
last time I did, it worked fine, but I don't have any IBM boxes handy for
testing at the moment.
