The author is a one-man band and probably having a well-deserved rest; it took a
long time from the last beta of scid 3.4 to version 3.4 itself. The program is
not open source, but that is the author's prerogative. (For some time I have
been expecting a cry of "open source it" as though that solved all problems,
including the perceived problem of no updates).

I have had some thoughts about suggestions for improvement and am struggling to
find anything much to add to it. Development for the sake of being seen to do
something (because of the great Internet shriek "nothing has been posted for 2
hours! is the author dead?" is a bad idea :)
