Of course, if you have TBs this is not a problem. Possibly a suitable relaxation of the RM v R rule would be when the opponents king is trapped on the edge of the board. I feel (from examining the posted position) that this gives the RM side some forcing chances. Maybe in this case it would be OK to relax the (RMvR) penatly slightly, or even completely. Cheers, Tim.
