I'll dare a guess that this piece of info is also covered by the NDA. :-) I have not seen any official statement from Microsoft that they are even going to deliver such a product. Its very existence is just inferred from the fact that MS has promised AMD to deliver a 64 bit Windows version http://www.amd.com/us-en/Weblets/0,,7832_8366_7595~19906,00.html From that you might make a good guess on what kind of compiler MS could use to produce a Windows XP-64 or an Opteron version of Windows 2003 Server. There has been no official info that I have seen, and I am really looking. So Eugene's "leak" is the first real confirmation of its existence, not much of a surprise though. The Official Roadmap just generally mentions 64 bit support for the 2004 release of Visual Studio (no specific processors): http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/productinfo/roadmap.aspx Bo Persson bop2@telia.com
