Hi Bert: I understand very well your anger and troubles as much your are in the intermediate position between customer and producer and as much these kind of things can damage your bussines. Nevertheless, maybe you are forgetting that this was not surely made because Ed got drunk or by some malice, but coerced by circunstances. If there is somebody to blame, theb are the first guys that ignited this price war and even they cannot be blamed because such is the way free enterprise system operates. People here -and of course you- should know better. Haven't you buy a computer to find nex week the cost was slashed to a fraction because a new darling is in the shells? So are things in software and hardware industry. Ed did it because is the price to survive. He surely would prefer things as usual, normal prices, to keept his way of living churning one upgrade each year and so and so, but market forces say otherwise. That is the meaning of competition after all, a kind of thing all people recognizes as the only way to keep an economy running and developing, except when they are in the middle of its cruel wheels. And the meaning is also that some changes comes: changes to the side of producer, change on the side of retailers, change in the tastes of the people, in the money they expend, the kind of products they want, etc. That's the reason Fidelity and others brands disappeared, the reason some programmers were expelled or almost, etc; for the same reason new and more programs , each more complte and full of features appears each new day. You will have problems, Steve will have problems, Ed will have, etc, but there is no way to stop this process in order to fit the claims of the so called victims. Suirely some kind of new and perhaps better equilibrium will be reached as already happened when in just one year the martket for stand alone unit vanished or almost. Ber, be wuietm, be happy and stay calm because surely you will be one of the survivors. No chance that even from a so distant country as mine you are known and have customers, at least one, me. Just in case, I will pray for you even if I am not a believer, but you never know. Fernando
