I suppose that it may be possible (any software may have exploits) although I suspect if you're hooked up to the internet, this was the cause, not your connection to Playchess. This is a fairly new exploit: if you haven't patched it, do so... http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.html I believe (although I may be wrong on this) that you need to have certain ports open, so are you behind a firewall/NAT?
