AFAIK Ruffian 1.0.1 IS still the newest free version. 1.0.5 and some newer versions are beta engines; they're not available for free download till now. It's correct that the new (commercial) "Kasparov Chessmate" (for PC, Pocket PC or Palm) includes a Ruffian engine; I don't know the exact version. Greetings, Manfred
