Go up one level in this thread

Hi Fernando: Actually, I have thought on this a lot in the last few months as I
become ready to relocate back to NY.

I'm leaving my Beautiful girlfriend here (with her mother Victoria, Holly can
join me later, perhaps), because I discoverd that I love this game more then
anything else. I earned a living previously teaching chess in NY schools and
hope to do so again. I haven't developed the same conections here as I had
(have?) there. The infrastruction for chess teaching in NY is at a much greater
level then here in Seattle. And most importantly the great chess clubs,
player's, personalities & Chess software stores! (ICD Chess), are not presant
here.

I don't know about selling chess lessons on the Internet. I don't pressume my
self strong enough (or knowledgable), enough about it (yet), to try that, just
now.

So it is not just chess improvement I am seeking in my future. But if it were
inprovement alone I were seeking, I doubt I'd make much progress, as I subscribe
to the theory that, once you reach a certain level at a particuler age, thats it
- your not going much further.

Best would be to be reincarnated as a young child with an interest in chess and
very supportive parents who encourage your development and take you to all the
chess tournaments, wherever the location. Who knows how many potential Josh
Waitzkin's or Tal Shaked's are 'out there' who never actually get the chance to
'shine' in chess, because its not considered in our culture in the same esteme
as Baseball, Football, or even Bowling!

Nevertheless, forgive me the personnal stuff above, I still have the dream of
becomming a much better chess player than I am now! Like my favoright movie,
'Joe versus the Vocano', "There may still be time, use it well". And I advise
anyone trying to accomplish some life dream to plunge right in, with out worring
too much on the cost of accomplishing it.

mrslug - the inkompetent chess software addict!
