I doesn' agree with what you said. i'll give an example. Even in human players, i've got a friend who beat me regularly although i'm 200 ELo points stronger than him. But against the same opponents i alwyas make a much much better result against them (i end a 9 rund tournament usually 1.0 or 1.5 points ahead him). The same thing is possible for the computer chess programs. So why not making these tests? It's not a waiste in our time.
