Subject: Software Suggestions for 1500?

I am roughly 1500 USCF and I am looking for a good sparring partner, a good game
analyst, and a trainer/coach would not hurt.

I have Chessmaster 6000 and enjoy playing the various personalities which span
the spectrum of ratings as while presenting different styles of play. However, I
find CM6000 an annoying analyst to work with. For one thing, it wants to flip
the board every time I want to analyze for the other side. So:

I still use Socrates 3.0 even though it is a DOS based program. It is a reliable
sparring partner and game analyst, and takes only 4 seconds to provide 2400
level play. It is simple and user friendly when used as tool for studying a
game. But I'm sure it is behind the times in addition to the fact that it won't
run (directly) on a win98 machine.

For coaching and training, I am using Chess Mentor 2.0 without any additional
modules and find it quite satisfactory. But I have to wonder what else is out
there...

I am tempted to buy Fritz 7.0 at 24.95. It looks like a bargain.
